Add you new Email account to Gmail application - Android devices

This guide is for setting up your new email address created by ATW Web Services on Android devices using the "Gmail" application. Please ensure you have your email address name and password handy which have been previously provided for you:

  1. Open "Apps" (normally by swiping up from your home screen).
  2. Click "Gmail".
  3. Click "Add an email address".
  4. Click "Other".
  5. Enter your email address in the text field.
  6. Click "Manual setup".
  7. Select Personal (IMAP).
  8. Enter your password in the text field which has been previously provided for you and click "Next".
  9. Your details should be automatically filled in for Username and Password if not please fill them in and change "Server" to "".
  10. Click "Next" (this can take some time).
  11. A warning will appear as we are using a self-certified encryption certificate.
  12. Click "Edit settings".
  13. Enter "143" in the "Port" text field.
  14. Select "STARTTLS (accept all certificates) under "Security type" and double check the Port number (sometimes this reverts back).
  15. Click "Next" and wait until Outgoing server settings are displayed (this can take some time).
  16. Your Username and Password should be automatically filled out, if not please do so and change SMTP server to "" then click "Next".
  17. Again a warning will appear, click "Edit settings".
  18. Enter "25" in the "Port" text field.
  19. Select "STARTTLS (accept all certificates) under "Security type" and double check the Port number (sometimes this reverts back).
  20. Click "Next" and wait until "Account options" are displayed (this can take some time).
  21. Select your preferences for notifications, Syncronisation and attachments and click "Next".
  22. Enter your Account name (which is only displayed on your phone) and enter the name you would like to be displayed to email recipients in the second text field then click "Next".
You should now be connected and ready to send and receive emails. To ensure everything has been set up correctly, please send a test email to yourself at a different mailbox you have access to.
